Lancôme Golden Glow Collection ♡ First Impression of The Absolue Foundation Range

Disclaimer: The products featured were provided for review.

I am so excited to share with you some new makeup products from Lancome that are due to launch in New Zealand on the 18th of July 2016. This is the Lancome Golden Glow Collection, with its' main focus on the Absolue Foundation Range. I have been trying these products for a week now, and while I can't write an in-depth review yet as I haven't used these products for long, I will be sharing with you my first impression of each of the products and my thoughts on how well these products performs on me.

Lancome The Absolue Foundation Range: The Golden Glow Collection

 LANCOME ABSOLUE
THE GOLDEN GLOW COLLECTION

The Golden Glow Collection is said to be suitable for anyone of any age and the range is claimed to be a success in the Asian market. Lancome has created a selection of products that evens out the complexion and correct imperfection, and the range is formulated with sheer brilliance that aims to create the most gorgeous radiance.

Lancome The Absolue Foundation Range contains five products, with three being new to the collection. I have with me four of the products and they are the  Golden Glow Hydrating Make-Up Base Radiance Smoothing Loose Powder Rejuvenating & Nourishing Cream Foundation, and the  Radiance Compact Foundation.

Although all the products mentioned were sent to me for review purpose, all opinions are my own. I am sure that you have heard of this a lot and a lot, but I just want to say that, if I didn't like a product, I wouldn't bothered blog about it.

Before I go ahead and discuss each of the products, I just want to quickly mention how I am obsessed with the sleek, gold, mirror-effect packaging that looks and feels luxury. Despite the many fingerprints it appeared when touched, it is easily wiped clean with a dried cloth.

ABSOLUE SUBLIME GOLDEN GLOW HYDRATING MAKE-UP BASE is described as a crystal clear, water-like gel with slightly iridescent pearl pigments that smooth, re-plumps and gives hydration to the skin before applying makeup. It claims to instantly provide an incredible freshness sensation to the skin that keeps your makeup in place all day long.

Can we just talk about how pretty the packaging is?! Ohmygosh!!! The primer has a thick gel-like texture that applies a little sticky, the sticky texture goes away once it dries down and my face feels smooth and soft. The glitter that you see in the tube also comes out of the tube when using, but it quickly disappeared when applied.

Lancome Absolue Sublime Radiance Smoothing Loose Powder

ABSOLUE SUBLIME RADIANCE SMOOTHING LOOSE POWDER is formulated with the soft-focus smoothing system that diffuses light in all directions to blur pores and imperfections, as well as optically smooth skin. This loose powder is available in two shades: Pink (01) and Apricot (02), and it includes a high quality velvet puff that allows to applied with just the right amount, with no excess cover or visible power effect.

My favourite thing about this loose powder is the puff it came packaged with, the puff is squishy and soft and it allows me to pick up just the right amount. The powder itself is smooth and very soft, if holding up a mirror closely to my face, I see there's bits of shimmer all over, but when looking afar, it's not that obvious. I love that this loose powder makes my face looks flawless and plus, it smells like fresh lime.

Lancome Absolue Sublime Rejuvenating & Nourishing Cream Foundation

ABSOLUE SUBLIME REJUVENATING & NOURISHING CREAM FOUNDATION SPF 26 / PA +++ is Lancome's first ever serum-in-cream foundation that is available in six shades: 100, 110, 130, 150, 170 and 210. It is described as a high coverage foundation that combines the regeneration power of a serum with the comfort of a creamy texture. This cream foundation claims to nourishes and creates evenly smooth, refined skin with a healthy radiance.

This cream foundation is probably my favourite product from this collection! It is suitable for oily skin and it is able to keep my face away from shine for long hours. Upon application, I immediately see that it covers imperfection and it makes my face looks flawless. The foundation feels lightweight, as if I wasn't wearing any makeup on the day, it whitens and brightens up my face. The consistency is rich and cream, and it offers a full coverage look with just a little bit used.

The Lancome Rejuvenating & Nourishing Cream Foundation comes with a plastic spatula that is used to scoop out the foundation, it's nice not having to stick my finger into the foundation, but at the same time, I feel like the spatula always picks up too much product. Another thing about the spatula, it comes separately with the foundation which makes it difficult for storage, unless if you are a very neat and organized person, I can just imagined one day the spatula would disappeared and I would never be able to find it again.

The only thing that I am not so sure about is that, even though it controls oil well and it doesn't make my face too shiny throughout the day, I feel like by the end of the day (approximately 8 hours), my eyes burns terribly from all that facial oil, and on days that I used blotting papers (haven't used those in so long), my eyes still burns, but it's not as bad as if I didn't use the blotting papers.

Lancome Absolue Sublime Radiance Compact Foundation

Lancome Absolue Sublime Radiance Compact Foundation

ABSOLUE SUBLIME RADIANCE COMPACT FOUNDATION is a serum-oil compact foundation that is available in six shades: 100,110,130,150,170 and 210. It is formulated with precious & highly performing ingredients that creates intensely smooth and luminous complexion. This compact foundation includes a large vertical mirror, a sponge application and a secure magnetic closing cover that protects the product from getting dirt; and the foundation claims to improve fine lines and skin texture, with skin looking rejuvenated even after makeup.

I love the packaging of this compact foundation, and I especially love the idea of a secure closing cover that will protect the foundation from getting dirt.

The compact foundation is sheer and it is build-able to your desire coverage, it feels lightweight and it does covers imperfections like pimples and reduces pores, but the foundation doesn't cover my under eye dark circles too well, and it has signs of burning eyes around the 5 hours wearing mark, when my face starts to feel oily and looks very shiny.

HOW I USE & HOW IT WEARS
THE GOLDEN GLOW COLLECTION

I have received two foundations, so I tried to take turns using all the products within the week that I tried the products. Both methods that I have used are pretty much the same, just different foundation used that's all. I will be sharing with you how I use these products, what beauty tools that I have used with these products and how these products performs and wears throughout the day (it's usually 8 / 9 hours for me).

METHOD 1: firstly, applied one pump of the Lancome Absolue Sublime Golden Glow Hydrating Make-Up Base, leave my face to air-dry until the primer no longer feels sticky. Then I take the plastic spatula and scoop out little bit (maybe pea sized) of the Lancome Absolue Sublime Rejuvenating & Nourishing Cream Foundation, dotted the foundation on my face evenly and blends with a damp beauty blender. Prior to applying the Lancome Absolue Sublime Radiance Smoothing Loose Powder, I have applied under-eye concealer using YSL Touche Eclat and set it with Guerlain Meteorites Pearls. Last few steps I bronze and highlight with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow and applied blush with MAC Bad Girl Gone Good. Final step, I applied lip color, lip shades is different everyday and before I leave I set my makeup with the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray.

Method 1 wears comfortably for 7 hours the most before my eyes starts to burn crazily from all that facial oil. The foundation as mentioned has excellent coverage and it feels lightweight during wear. The foundation was able to control facial oil and my face didn't look oily for several hours.

METHOD 2: pretty much the same as methods 1, except that I used the Lancome Absolue Sublime Radiance Compact Foundation instead of the cream foundation.

Method 2 is also comfortable during wear and the wearing time is approximately 6 hours, it faded around the nose area first then some areas on the cheek faded too. I had to re-applied during the day, but it didn't bother me as the compact foundation was easy and secure to carry around.

When I touched up my foundation, it didn't turn cakey nor heavy; although my colleague says it is quite obvious that I have touched up my foundation, it looks good as in my face doesn't look shiny anymore.
