Carousel Cosmetics ☾ Pernicious Lipstick Lip Swatches

I have came across a few people who claim Carousel Cosmetics Pernicious Lipstick is a dupe for Lime Crime Chinchilla, so I bought this lipstick to see the result myself and they look nothing a like! Chinchilla is more a lavender-ish grey, while Pernicious is a brighter purple. I will write a comparison post if anyone is interested to see swatches of both lipsticks side-by-side.

Today I want to focus on reviewing Pernicious, I have previous reviewed and raved about That's What She Said, a beautiful fuchsia shade. The pigmentation and the longevity of that lipstick is amazing, you can read all about it here and here.

I want to eventually collect all the lipsticks available from Carousel Cosmetics because their product quality is top notch! There are currently six lipstick shades available from their lipstick range and Pernicious is the second lipstick I own from the brand.

Carousel Cosmetics Pernicious Lipstick
Carousel Cosmetics is described as a bright and fun brand, it is a beauty brand owned by an online beauty boutique here in New Zealand. Carousel currently has six lipsticks and six makeup brushes available from their brand, each product is designed in NZ and made in the the USA.

Each of their lipstick comes packed in sleek glossy black tube with their logo 'Carousel Cosmetics' printed on the cap along with a carousel horsey in white. I had previously mentioned I would prefer their packaging to be more color and more carousel like' and yeah I would still love it if their packaging were more colorful, but I actually quite how they are right now, simple and sturdy. The cap doesn't fall out easy, it grips tightly onto the lipstick tube once you have snap the cap close; so there is no worrying about your lipstick becoming loose in your handbag, or having your loose lipstick smear all over your bag.

Carousel Cosmetics Pernicious Lipstick
Carousel Cosmetics Pernicious Lipstick is described as a smooth daring purple, it is a bright purple with a hint of grey. The formula is creamy and it applies smoothly with a full opaque coverage. Pernicious does stains like crazy and it worn well for approximately five hours on me. It doesn't have the amazing longevity as That's What She Said, but it's not bad!

Carousel Cosmetics Lipstick is available to purchase on beautybliss.co.nz (NZD $19.00), Beauty Bliss currently ships within New Zealand and to Australia, I am sure they can ship to other countries if you just email them about it.

Overall, Carousel Pernicious Lipstick is a beautiful lipstick to own if you adore bright colors and you are searching for a lipstick that is creamy and moisturizing during wear.

  1. I think the color is super beautiful, but I would be too nervous to wear it on my lips. I really want this in an eyeshadow color though!

  2. I've seen quite a bit from AU and NZ bloggers featuring this cosmetic brand but I haven't had the chance to try anything from them! I personally am a fan of purplish pinks and purplish reds but I personally wouldn't get this shade. Anything that makes my already slightly yellow teeth more yellow I have to pass! It's really hard to find whitening strips or products in general here! Our pharmacies just don't stock them! Otherwise maybe if I had really white teeth I'd give this shade a try! :p
