MAC Proenza Schouler Primrose Lipstick ♡ Mini Review + Swatches

MAC Proenza Schouler Lipstick in Primrose

MAC Primrose, one of the four limited edition lipsticks launched in April this year from the MAC Proenza Schouler collection. I have already reviewed two of the lipsticks: Woodrose (beautiful pink beige) & Mangrove (my perfect red) and today I am reviewing Primrose, a sexy vampy plum shade.

MAC Primrose is described as a medium, cool-toned berry plum with a lustre finish. It looks dark and scary from the tube but in real-life when applied on the lips, it shows up as more of a sheer plum, which you can also build it up to a dark berry plum shade.

I have been really into the whole vampy looks trends lately, but I am not used to wearing dark color lipsticks at all. Being a girly-girly, who adores all things pink and sparkly, can you imagine me getting into the vampy dark lips trends?! Hardly! Believe it or not, I actually really love the dark lips look!

In my previous MAC Proenza Schouler lipsticks reviews, I have mentioned I didn't like the MAC Proenza Schouler lipsticks packaging, I guess I was not used to the square tube. But then I slowly fell in love with the beautiful ombre style, I started to get used to the square tube and I ended up really loving the packaging. I love it when MAC launch a limited edition collection with an unique packaging!

MAC Primrose feels quite balmy when applies on the lips, it had a semi-opaque coverage which applies very smoothly on my lips and it wore well for three hours before it fades and leaves a stain.

Last night I check, Primrose is still available to purchase on the MAC website for USD$22.00, I am surprised it's still available to purchase as it is a limited edition lipstick and it was launched nearly five months ago ~ :o

Anyway, have you tried the MAC Proenza Schouler collection?

  1. Ooo...I love the look of that shade! Such a wearable berry plum! I'm a fan of berry tones on the cheeks and lips! Believe it or not I have only owned ever 3 eyeshadow singles from Mac and nothing else but a few days back I bought my first two mineralized blushes from them at the airport! LOVE THEM!

  2. I think this collection was a bit lost among some of the huge ones this year, I didn't really hear about it much. This lipstick looks so nice on you.

    1. Thank you Jess :) I'm not usually one who follows seasonal trends, but I guess the weather changed me this year hahha, it must be the winter weather that got me really into the vampy shades. It's Spring here now :)
